Important Points

  • Bihar Domicile Required: Reservation benefits (including 35% women’s horizontal reservation) are applicable only to candidates who are original residents of Bihar State.
  • One Application Only: A candidate can submit only one online application. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation of all applications filed.
  • Pregnant Candidates: Married female candidates found pregnant during the physical test/medical examination will be disqualified from the physical efficiency test.
  • Stammering / Stuttering: Candidates with stammering or stuttering defects will be considered ineligible.
  • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in both Preliminary and Main written examinations.
  • Selection Timeline: The entire selection process may take approximately 6 months to complete.
  • Third Gender (Kinnar/Hijra): Eligible to apply; physical standards and reservation as per OBC (BC) category norms.
  • Reservation Outside Bihar: Candidates from other states must apply as Unreserved/General category candidates.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Written Examination – 100 Marks / 100 Questions / 2 Hours
    Subjects: General Knowledge & Current Affairs (40 Questions) + Technical Subject Group (60 Questions from chosen group – ECE / ETC / IT / Electrical & Electronics). Questions at Polytechnic level. Minimum qualifying marks: 30%.
    Candidates scoring below 30% in Prelims will be disqualified from Mains. Top 20× vacancies (category-wise) will qualify for Mains.
  2. Main Written Examination – Two Papers:

    • Paper 1 – General Language (100 Marks / 1.5 Hours): General Hindi (50 marks) + General English (50 marks). Minimum qualifying marks: 30. Marks NOT counted in merit.
    • Paper 2 – Technical Subject (100 Marks / 3 Hours / 100 Questions): Chosen technical group at Polytechnic level. Minimum qualifying marks: 33%.

    Top 5× vacancies (category-wise, based on Paper 2 marks) will qualify for Physical Test.

  3. Physical Efficiency / Fitness Test (Qualifying Nature) – No marks awarded:
    • Running: 1 Mile (1.6 km) in max. 7 minutes (Men) | 1 km in max. 7 minutes (Women)
    • High Jump: Min. 3 ft 6 in (Men) | Min. 2 ft 6 in (Women)
    • Long Jump: Min. 10 ft (Men) | Min. 7 ft (Women)
    • Shot Put: 16 lb – Min. 14 ft (Men) | 12 lb – Min. 8 ft (Women)
  4. Merit List – Prepared based on marks in Main Examination Paper 2 (Technical Subject). In case of tie: Date of Birth (older gets higher rank), then educational qualification, then qualifying exam marks.
  5. Medical Examination & Document Verification – Final stage for shortlisted candidates.

How to Apply for Bihar Police ASI (Technical) Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official website: bpssc.bihar.gov.in
  2. Click on the “Bihar Police” tab and find the link for Advt. No. 07/2026.
  3. Complete Part-I Registration: Enter name, nationality, mobile number, Email ID, Bihar domicile, reservation category, gender, and date of birth.
  4. Pay the application fee of ₹100 online via Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI.
  5. After payment, log in using the Registration Number and Password received via SMS/Email.
  6. Complete Part-II: Fill in father’s/husband’s name, mother’s name, address, and educational qualifications.
  7. Upload a recent passport-size photograph (white background, 15–25 KB, JPG/JPEG/GIF) and signature in English & Hindi (15–25 KB, JPG/JPEG/GIF).
  8. Review all details carefully, then Submit the form.
  9. Save/Print the Acknowledgement receipt for future reference.
